Nearly one and a half year ago I showed you the beautiful drawings and paintings of Jörg-Peter Rabe, which he made for us.
Jörg-Peter continued his great production. Here we go on….
Rabe continued with one of the prototypes of the Hongqi CA72. This car, made in 1961, had the air inlet removed, as it was useless, the air conditioning was never installed on the CA72. The registration was
‘2*4009 test’.
The photos show that this car was painted in a light color. Rabe chose light blue.
I showed you already in November 2021 the Beijing long wheelbase limousine.
Rabe started a painting of the Wuqi 620 and ZH70 in addition to the Wuqi sedan. This painting is not finished.
Another side-step: the Jianshe 51 2-ton truck 1958.
The Shanghai SH7180 (SAIC 96) was a car that was never made.
The rear side of the Shanghai SH750. We have only one movie photo of a car in action. No problem for Rabe, he made a very detailed painting.
Long ago, in januari 2018, I showed you two low quality photos of a Guangzhou sedan, made in 1975.
Rabe wrestled to make a good painting.
Not happy, he tried another different set up.
Rabe then restored the angle under which he painted the railway station:
(Sorry for the bluish copy)
Two projects are yet under construction:
the FAW-Volkswagen Olympia and a painting of the Mercedes Benz 190E together with the Pyongyang 4.10.
And something off topic:
Rabe made at my request for the magazine ‘Losange’, a Dutch/French magazine for Renault fans, a painting of a prototype of the Renault R16. Very interesting, as this prototype had round headlights (the production R16 had rectangular headlights), these were sealed beam lamps for the American market. There is only one photo and there are some technical drawings.
Rabe’s painting shows the Mount Canigou, the holy mountain of the Catalan people, in the background.

Jörg-Peter offers to make a painting of your car. He can do that with help of one or more photos. With your photos he will discuss with you the background.
