Mr. Wang Huan made his own cars.

In a magazine called China Auto Pictorial from 2001 there was an article about the cars made by mr. Wang Huan from Huairou. It was my friend Robert Jablonski who gave me the magazine.

Huairou is a city not far from Beijing, where mr. Luo Wenyou has his veteran car museum.

Wang Huan made two cars: a sports coupé and a  sports pickup. Both were based on the well known Tianjin-Dafa Xiali, though the pickup looks more like a Geely.  The magazine gives only the name of the coupé; Longteng 2000.

The magazine has done a sort of road test, but gives nearly no technical details of the cars. The pickup has a maximum speed of  160km/h and uses 12 sec. to reach 100km/h.

The engine of both cars is a license made Toyota 1.3-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine.

So the coupé is called Longteng 2000.

The coupé has a maximum speed of 180km/h and uses 6.5L/100km. The 0-100km/h takes 8.8 sec.

I have never seen these cars. Maybe they were on a show, I don’t know. Who knows more?? Please comment!!

1.The sticker is”sparco” not “eparco”
2.The pickup uses the wheel of VW Santana.

These self made cars are a fascinating topic – I do recall an old article about Jiaju on the carnewschina.com, that was also a good read. Pickup indeed seems to be based on Merrie, as the grille area opens together with the hood.
