During my recent China travel, friends notified me of their new founds of the wonderful past of the Chinese automobile. Here are some, gathered by on Wechat. (a国 车志a)
Shanghai SH760A with the direction indicators within the grille line.
It looks like the man at the two different photos is the same person. So maybe there is only one car.
Shanghai SH760A with different grille. Photo Wechat.
Interesting, as we had already the version with the round headlights.
The Heping (2) made in Tianjin shown to Zhou Enlai.
At least two Heping’s (2) had two characters, probably “He Ping”, at the bonnet.
But the car shown to Zhou Enlai had an emblem in Chevrolet style.
Two more photos of the car with the emblem.
The Hongqi CA7080 in a fresh green color.
Shanghai SH763 at Tian An’men.
A very seldom picture of a Beijing Dongfanghong BJ760 in traffic, with a military license plate. You can very clear see that the car was handmade.
Another wonderful photo: the first Shanghai car, the Fenghuang 1958.
A nice photo of the Beijing Limousine (1).

Another mini made by the Qinghua University.
Inspired by the NSU Prinz 3 gen.?
Surprise: another Steyr-Puch Haflinger copy, the Dongfeng 120, made by the Beijing Motorcycle Works.
The Dongfeng 120 was the only four-wheeler that was taking part in an extensive motorcycle program. It was a 4×4, had a 2-cylinder 697cc engine developing 30hp/5000rpm, and a payload of 500kg.
There was a strong resemblance with the Hongwei GQ200.
A second Hongqi mpv concept, based on an Audi 100 platform. A model made 1:1.
Different from the other one.
Funny how early CCP and USSR limousines always look American 🙂
Thank you, Erik, for these interesting pictures.
